Местами, например в означенном третьем разведбате, по сей день. Посмотрите, их много Bryan Denton фотографировал и в фотоальбоме 3-х MEF (имею в виду официальный на фликре) есть фото с ними (правда в основном с тренировок). Сейчас используется "старперами", которым нужно что-то более открытое, чем SPC, но которые не хотят тратиться на что-то новое.
Песочница, как бы подразумевает или скоротечность, или подвозку (чаще второе, благо МРАПов там теперь в достатке), а 2009-й подразумевает массовое переодевание в SPC. Не знаю, как на счет пешком и чистого грин-сайд (что-то не припомню давно именно пеших миссий), но кое-что могу проиллюстрировать (декабрь 2009-го, ЛРП на МРАПах):
